VDR Subsidy

The RSOM Office of the Vice Dean for Research (VDR) subsidizes the BCC to provide the following complimentary biostatistical services:

  • Preparation for grant submissions

For grant-related consulting, the Biostatistical Consulting Core (BCC) provides complimentary initial support for faculty within the School of Medicine, provided the proposed budget includes future BCC effort. Depending on the scope and structure of the grant, this may include a percentage of full-time effort (% FTE) for the participating biostatistician. To ensure adequate support and improve the competitiveness of your application, we strongly recommend contacting us well in advance of the deadline, as grant submissions often cluster around the same periods.

  • K, K12 awardees

The Office of the Vice Dean for Research (VDR) fully covers all statistical support needs for NIH career development awardees (K08, K23, VA CDA, etc.), as well as K12 awardees. If you fit this category, please begin by submitting a project request form here

  • 1-hour Free Consultation

All new study proposals are eligible for a one-hour complimentary consultation following submission of a project request form. This provides an opportunity to assess study needs and identify appropriate statistical support.

  • Monthly Open-door Bootcamp

The BCC hosts four one-hour Zoom sessions on the first Friday of each month. These sessions are open to all School of Medicine faculty. No project request form is required, but advance registration is necessary. You may reserve a session here

  • Mentored medical student research (additional 5h gratis support per project)

Research projects where the PI mentors a medical student may be eligible for up to five additional hours of statistical support, contingent upon approval by the Office of Graduate Medical Education. The mentor must be an RSOM faculty and attend all meetings with the BCC. To initiate support for such projects, please complete and submit a project request form
