Biostatistical consulting core (BCC) at Stony Brook University School of Medicine was established in 2003. It is one of 17 research core facilities operated by Office of Scientific Affairs.
- What is the purpose of the BCC?
Answer: Quality medical research must involve the use of state-of-the-art quantitative method. BCC aims to meet the increasing demand and to serve the biostatistical needs in Stony Brook Medicine by providing biostatistical consultation, collaboration, education and support for all aspects of a research endeavor. - What are the services provided?
Answer: Our BCC provides general biostatistical consultation from study design to data analysis, biostatistical assistance in grant preparation, and education such as short statistical courses or workshops. - Who does the BCC serve?
Answer: We are open to all researchers in Stony Brook University including faculty, stuff, fellow, residents and graduate students. Clients outside our university are welcomed too. - How does a client ask for support?
Answer: All types of statistical consultation start from filling out an online project request form. A meeting appointment can only be made after the filled form is received.
