About the Clinical Trials Office
At Stony Brook, we prioritize patient safety and trust in all of our clinical trials. The Clinical Trials Office works closely with investigators, coordinators, sponsors, and oversight bodies to ensure that every study is conducted responsibly and meets the highest standards. We take a hands-on approach in reviewing study protocols, monitoring safety signals, and making certain ethical safeguards are always in place. Our team supports principal investigators to implement clinical trials from planning to execution, ensuring every trial reflects the values of transparency, integrity, and protection of research participants.

NEUROLOGY • FEATURED HIGHLIGHT
SuperMovers: Gait, Cognition, and Alzheimer’s Disease
An NIH-funded study examining gait dysfunction as a preclinical marker of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias using advanced gait phenotyping and multidisciplinary team science.
Conducted within the Commack Clinical Trials Unit, the project combines quantitative gait analysis, EEG, eye tracking, and wearable sensors to uncover early risk and protective mechanisms for cognitive decline.
